FTP ZAPP is a procedure to send professional digital camera files from your computer to the Pechman Imaging digital color lab computers for direct digital printing on Kodak Endura RA4 color photographic paper using the internet. FTP utilizes special but simple software that makes the connection and monitors the transfer between your computer and the lab digital imaging computer.

FTP orders must have files sorted into folders that will indicate print size and quantity or package needed. FTP works well for proof, day care, prom, sport, underclass and Prints by the Inch orders. FTP ZAPP is ideal for SCM (Studio Color Managed) jobs. Jobs requiring individual color adjustments of digital camera files by the lab would be handled more efficiently in an ordering program such as Proshots or Labprints.

Many programs such as Bulletproof, Fetch, CuteFTP and Transmit are available. All of these programs work well. We have detailed instructions for Bulletproof, available for both Windows XP and Mac OS X.

Pechman Digital Color Lab also has a free direct connect (Dropsite) ftp program available. You prepare your job folder as you would with any of the other ftp programs. When you are ready to transmit your digital imaging order you drag your job folder onto the Dropsite icon. The icon will change color tones, let go of your mouse button. The Dropsite program will now start, connect to Pechman Professional Imaging, transfer your professional digital imaging order and stop. It remains there out of your way when you don’t need to use it.
